We all come from childhood, and sometimes we want to go back to that carefree time at least for a while. Even the most serious people periodically need to feel like a child: to re-learn how to dream and see the beauty in simple things. Watch a movie that will remind you what it’s like to be a child.
1. Paddington 2 (2017)
A family comedy directed by Paul King and based on Michael Bond’s series of children’s novels about the adventures of Paddington Bear. The furry guest from Peru has successfully settled in the Brown family home, but has not lost the ability to get involved in incredible adventures. This time, the source of all the trouble is an antique book stolen by someone from Mr. Gruber’s antique store.
2. Christopher Robin (2018)
A life-affirming family fantasy about Alan Milne’s grown-up hero. Christopher Robin has grown up, has a family and a serious job that takes up all his free time, and he has forgotten all about his childhood friends. But Winnie the teddy bear shows up on a secluded bench in a London square at the most unexpected moment – and takes him to the Hundred Acre Wood with him. The adult Christopher Robin is played by Ewan McGregor.
3. The BFG (2016)
A family fantasy film from Hollywood director Steven Spielberg (“Alien,” “Schindler’s List”) based on Roald Dahl’s book of the same name. Waking up in the middle of the night, an inquisitive orphan named Sophie accidentally witnesses the appearance of a huge giant who, according to urban legends, takes naughty children to his country. So it happened to the young heroine, but luckily the 15-meter giant turned out to be friendly and totally non-threatening. The world premiere took place on May 14, 2016 as part of the Cannes Film Festival.

4. The Jungle Book (2016)
An animated adaptation of the collection of Kipling’s stories by Disney Studios, a remake of the 1967 cartoon of the same name. The main character is an Indian boy Mowgli, adopted into the family of wild wolves and brought up according to the laws of the jungle. But an irreconcilable feud with the vicious Sherkhan forces him to leave the pack and embark on a journey full of unexpected discoveries and life-changing encounters. In the original version, the voices of the heroes of the animated tape gave Scarlett Johansson (Kaa), Christopher Walken (King Louis), Bill Murray (Baloo) and others.
5. Alice in Wonderland (2010)
Adventure fantasy movie by Tim Burton, based on the works of Lewis Carroll. The fairy tale plot, familiar since childhood, centers around the story of a grown-up girl named Alice. In an attempt to escape an imposed marriage, the 19-year-old heroine finds herself in a beautiful but dark kingdom headed by the fantastically cruel and overbearing Red Queen. The film won two Academy Awards in 2011.
6. Mary Poppins Returns (2018)
The Banks children have long since grown up, and Michael has even had children of his own. Which means a new generation is about to meet the most magical nanny in the world.

7. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children (2016)
An adventure fantasy directed by Tim Burton, known for “Dark Shadows,” “Edward Scissorhands” and “Big Fish.” The plot revolves around a sixteen-year-old boy, Jacob Portman, who accidentally finds himself on an island where children with supernatural powers live. They are all under the care of the strict Miss Peregrine from whom the young hero is to learn the secret of his origin. The movie is based on the novel of the same name by Rensom Riggs.
8. I Kill Giants (2017)
Fantastic adaptation of the Joe Kelly comic book series of the same name about a young girl Barbara Thompson with unusual abilities. She has the ability to transport herself to a world of giants, eager to exterminate humans. Despite the skepticism of others, who believe that Barbara’s stories are nonsense and an attempt to escape from reality, the girl does not give up and is ready to fight her enemies to save humanity.
9. Beauty and the Beast (2017)
A fantasy film produced by Walt Disney Pictures, which is a remake of the 1991 Disney cartoon of the same name. The search for her missing father leads the beautiful girl Belle to a mysterious castle, home to an enchanted prince whom everyone fears and hates. The guest asks her host to let her beloved father go, in return promising to stay in the palace forever. The belle was played by Porteriana star Emma Watson, with Dan Stevens hiding behind the monster mask.
